Enfield “Resin Bound” Driveways
What is resin bound?
Resin bound, sometimes known as ‘trowelled’ paving, is made from a mixture of natural stones and a clear UV resistant resin. To guarantee each stone is coated fully in resin, the liquid and stones are combined in a force-action mix process, to form a mixture that is then poured onto your Enfield driveway, or any other area you wish to cover.
Once poured, the mixture is then hand-trowelled to form a smooth, consistent surface with no loose stones. Resin bound surfaces are permeable, letting rainwater pass through. Because of this they require little maintenance and can be cleaned with a simple jet wash.
Benefits of Resin Bound Surfaces:
- Reduced flood risk (permeable)
- Resistant to weed growth
- Grippy, anti-slip surface
- UV resistant (colour won't fade)
- Very low maintenance
- Choice of aggregate colours

What is resin bond?
Also known as scattercoat, broadcast or coat system, resin bond involves first coating the top layer of a driveway with resin, then applying a loose layer of stones and pressing them into the surface.
Resin bond offers a wide range of aggregate colour options, allowing you to choose a driveway surface appearance that works for you.
Should I Choose Resin Bound or Resin Bond for my Enfield Drive?
Both resin driveway surface types are a great option to improve your property, however we would recommend resin bound for most Enfield clients. This is due to its permeable nature and the reduced risk of loose gravel escaping the surface.
